Studio to Stage Jr
Studio to Stage is a full year program that incorporates all disciplines of the arts into one program. During this program, students will work together to produce their own musical production. Studio to Stage Junior is designed to build student’s confidence and skill as a musical theatre performer. Over the course of the year, students will work together to bring their production to life, taking it from the studio to the stage! In addition to learning their music, choreography, lines and developing their character for the production, students will take part in creating the props and sets for the production, as well as workshops and lessons that focus on developing their acting skills and vocal technique.
Each session will end with a final performance where the students will either record their production as a group to be share or present their production live to family and friends. Dates for our final performance will be finalized in the new year.
Tuition (October to May) – $625+HST
Classes will be offered in-person, at Arts Abound, whenever possible. In the event that Arts Abound must close due to COVID-19, either by provincial mandate or by public health due to exposure to COVID-19, classes will be moved online. REFUNDS/CREDIT WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF CLASSES ARE MOVED ONLINE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, masks will be required for anyone entering Arts Abound. Students, staff, and volunteers must wear their mask for the duration of their class(es). Masks may be removed in the washrooms and when taking a drink (while socially distanced). Children under the age of 2 will be exempt from this policy.
As an inclusive space that offers programs for vulnerable populations, Arts Abound is required to have a vaccination policy. We are committed to continue to offer a safe and inclusive environment for the most vulnerable in our community. All eligible (aged 12+) staff, volunteers, and participants will be required to show proof of vaccination to participate in activities. This includes any adults accompanying students as inclusion support or in our toddler/preschool class. Exceptions to the vaccination policy will be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the director and will require regular testing at the expense of the participant.
DISCLAIMER: This vaccination policy does not supersede any provincial vaccine mandates and will be updated to reflect any changes introduced by the provincial government.
Theatre is a team effort! Every performer plays an important role in telling the story, making attendance extremely important. Studio to Stage is a year long commitment. Students are expected to be at ALL rehearsals for their class.
Each performer is permitted a maximum of 3 missed rehearsals over the course of the year. If your child will be missing a rehearsal it is extremely important that you contact the studio prior to the beginning of class so that we can plan appropriately (the more notice, the better, we plan far in advance). Failure to communicate absences prior to the beginning of class may result in your child being removed from the scene being worked on that day. More than 3 absences in a year may result in your performer being removed from scenes or his/her role being reassigned. These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis and are largely driven by the level of disruption to the rest of the cast. Opportunities to make up missed rehearsal with one of the instructors may be an option and will be at the parent’s expense.
Due to the huge amount of planning required for our Studio to Stage productions no refunds will be given for cancelled registrations, unless we are able to fill your child’s spot in the production. All refunds will be issued as credits, which can be used towards any program at Arts Abound for up to 1 year after it is issued. Due to the large number of upfront costs associated with producing a musical, there are no cash refunds.
