Studio to Stage Jr

Studio to Stage is a full year program that incorporates all disciplines of the arts into one program. During this program, students will work together to produce their own musical production. Studio to Stage Intermediate is designed to build students’ confidence and skill as a musical theatre performer.  Over the course of the year, students will work together to bring their production to life, taking it from the studio to the stage! In addition to learning their music, choreography, lines and developing their character for the production, students will take part in creating the props and sets for the production, as well as workshops and lessons that focus on developing their acting skills and vocal technique.

REFUND POLICY
Due to the large amount of planning required for our Studio to Stage productions and a number of large upfront costs associated with producing a musical, no refunds will be given for cancelled registrations, unless we are able to fill your child’s spot in the production. If your child’s spot is filled, a non-transferrable CREDIT (less a $20 processing fee) will be issued, which can be used towards any program at Arts Abound for up to 1 year after it is issued. CREDITS HAVE NO CASH VALUE.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Theatre is a team effort! Every performer plays a vital role in telling the story, making attendance extremely important. Studio to Stage is a year-long commitment. Students are expected to be at all classes, rehearsals, and performances listed above for their class. Failure to attend 3 or more rehearsals may result in your performer being removed from scenes or his/her role being reassigned. These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis and are largely driven by the level of disruption to the rest of the cast. Opportunities to make up missed rehearsal with one of the instructors may be an option and will be at the parents’ expense. During the final 3 weeks before performance students are expected to attend 100% of class and rehearsals, these mandatory rehearsals have been listed for each class.

DECLARATION OF DISABILITY
Communication is imperative to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.  Please contact Arts Abound prior to registering to discuss your child’s needs.

Arts Abound is unable to provide any:
– Personal care support (e.g. administering medication, toileting, feeding)
– 1:1 Behavioural support to participate in programs
– Support for any violent and aggressive behaviours

If a child requires personal care or behaviour support, families are welcome to send them with a qualified 1:1 support with their child and we will happily accommodate.

Classes at Arts Abound are not alternatives to ABA Therapy and/or Social and Group Skills Programs.  In determining if classes at Arts Abound are the right fit for your child, here are some skills needed to participate successfully in classes: follow two-step instructions, independently regulate emotions, participate safely in group activities, take turns, share materials, and communicate with instructors.  If your child is still working on these skills, our Arts For All class might be an appropriate fit, or we are happy to make a recommendation for a Social/Group Skills class in the area that will help prepare your child for class participation.

Arts Abound reserves the right to remove a child from their program if any disabilities have not been declared at the time of registration and/or the level of care and supports required was not accurately communicated.

UNMANAGEABLE, INAPPROPRIATE AND DANGEROUS BEHAVIOUR
Arts Abound reserves the right to remove a child from class, without refund, if their behaviour or the behaviour of their parent(s)/guardian(s) is deemed to be unmanageable, inappropriate, and/or is dangerous to themselves or others. Bullying and harassment – of any kind – will not be tolerated.

SAFE SPACE
Arts Abound is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging space for all members and allies of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

CLASSES
Classes will be offered in-person, at Arts Abound, whenever possible.  Our class schedule allows for one cancelled class per semester that will not be made up. If there is more than one class cancelled due to weather or instructor illness, a make-up class will be scheduled.

If Arts Abound must close due to unforeseen circumstances – such as government mandate, natural disaster, or public health emergency – classes will be moved online. REFUNDS/CREDITS WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF CLASSES ARE MOVED ONLINE.
