Creative Connections

This visual arts class is designed for neurodiverse learners, including those on the autism spectrum and with other developmental disabilities. It offers a supportive and inclusive environment where creativity and connection can thrive. Through activities like drawing, painting, and collage, students will explore self-expression while building confidence and peer relationships.

With a focus on meeting individual needs, the class provides a calm, structured space where students can create at their own pace. Projects are adapted to support different learning styles, encouraging social engagement and shared artistic experiences in a low-pressure, welcoming setting.

Recommended Ages:
5:45-6:45pm – ages 8-11
7:00-8:00pm – ages 12+

DECLARATION OF DISABILITY
Communication is imperative to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.  Please contact Arts Abound prior to registering to discuss your child’s needs.

Arts Abound is unable to provide any:
– Personal care support (e.g. administering medication, toileting, feeding)
– Support for any violent and aggressive behaviours

If a child requires personal care, families are welcome to send a qualified 1:1 support person to attend with their child. Arts Abound reserves the right to remove a child from their program if any disabilities have not been declared at the time of registration and/or the level of care and supports required was not accurately communicated.

UNMANAGEABLE, INAPPROPRIATE AND DANGEROUS BEHAVIOUR
Arts Abound reserves the right to remove a child from class, without refund, if their behaviour and/or the behaviour of their parent(s)/guardian(s) is deemed to be unmanageable, inappropriate, and/or is dangerous to themselves or others. Bullying and harassment – of any kind – will not be tolerated.

REFUND POLICY
There are NO refunds (cash or credit) for dropped classes or cancelled registrations. If your child is not enjoying their class, our goal is to help find a class that they will enjoy.  A student may transfer into another current class – that has availability and where adding a new student is not disruptive – without penalty.  If the student transfers into a more expensive class, families will be billed for the additional cost.

PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Pick up and drop off is at the front door.  Only students will be invited into the building.
Drop Off – Students will be invited into the building 5 minutes prior to their class time.
Pick Up – Parents are expected to arrive promptly at the end of their child’s class for pick up.  If you are late due to an emergency/unforeseen, please call the studio to let us know you are on your way.  Late pick ups will be subject to a $15+HST late fee (due prior to your child’s next class).  The safety of our students in our top priority, families who do not respect our pickup policy will be removed from classes without refund.

CLASSES
Classes will be offered in-person, at Arts Abound, whenever possible.  Our class schedule allows for one cancelled class per semester that will not be made up. If there is more than one class cancelled due to weather or instructor illness, a make-up class will be scheduled.

If Arts Abound must close due to unforeseen circumstances – such as government mandate, natural disaster, or public health emergency – classes will be moved online. REFUNDS/CREDITS WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF CLASSES ARE MOVED ONLINE.
